Image Musical Theatre - Dr Dolittle

Our school was recently treated to a truly unforgettable experience when Image Musical Theatre visited to perform their lively and engaging rendition of Dr. Dolittle.

Our school was recently treated to a truly unforgettable experience when Image Theatre visited to perform their lively and engaging rendition of Dr. Dolittle. The whole school was captivated from start to finish, enjoying a production filled with humour, adventure and plenty of imagination.

Dr. Dolittle was written over 100 years ago. This classic story is about a kind and curious doctor who discovers he has the special ability to talk to animals. Instead of treating human patients, he chooses to care for animals and embarks on exciting adventures to help them. Along the way, he proves that compassion, understanding, and bravery can make a real difference in the world. Despite its age, the tale remains timeless, continuing to charm audiences of all generations with its message of kindness and respect for all living creatures.

One of the most exciting aspects of the visit was the opportunity for some of our pupils to take part in the performance. Several children volunteered to become actors for the day, stepping confidently onto the stage alongside the professionals. They learnt their parts brilliantly in a short amount of time and performed with confidence, making our school extremely proud. The stage was brought to life with a delightful mix of characters, including mischievous monkeys, hearty pirates, and even some baa-rilliant sheep! The rest of the school contributed brilliantly too, mastering the words to several songs in no time at all and singing them with real enthusiasm.

Image Theatre’s performance was energetic, interactive, and full of laughter and whole-school interaction. It was a brilliant way to bring literature to life and inspire a love of storytelling among our pupils. We are incredibly grateful for their visit and for giving our children such a memorable experience.
