First Week in Reception

What an absolutely wonderful first week we have had in Reception! The children have settled in brilliantly and have enjoyed a week centered around one very special theme — bears!  We have read stories about bears and enjoyed singing and dancing to bear-themed songs.  The children have used their imaginations to make bear puppets, build bear caves, care for bears in our bear hospital and of course, no week of bear adventures would be complete without going on a bear hunt! 

To celebrate such a successful and exciting first week, the children brought their own favourite bear or cuddly toy from home into school on Friday. The excitement was wonderful to see as the children proudly introduced their bears to their friends before taking them on a very special picnic in our Forest School area. It was the perfect way to end our first week together.

I have been immensely proud of all of the children this week. Starting school is a big step, and they have shown tremendous courage, enthusiasm and stamina as they have begun their Reception journey. It has been a joy to see their smiles, hear their laughter and watch them begin to grow in confidence each day.
