our year 2 children also had a trip over to the South Molton Community College on Thursday afternoon to take part in an Orienteering Festival, alongside other children from different local primary schools. The children took part in a range of activities giving them a taster of the sport of orienteering; all led by the year 9 sports leaders at the college. After some warm up exercises and some parachute games the pupils took part in a number of orienteering based games and activities, from learning how to punch control cards, navigation around cones and a small orienteering course on the Astro turf pitch. Despite the wind and a few showers all the pupils had a great time, getting the chance to put into practice the skills they had been learning in school with Mr Wiggans last week!
