OUR CURRICULUM

learning about winter and the seasonal changes in the world!

The snow and ice earlier this week were perfectly timed and provided a wonderful opportunity to support the children’s learning about winter and the seasonal changes in the world around them. The children had a joyful first week back, full of excitement and discovery.  They especially enjoyed buying and selling hats, scarves and gloves in our role-play shop, as well as colour mixing with snow, experimenting with ice, and exploring how it changes.  The children also made bird feeders to support species that have not migrated to warmer climates and created some beautiful winter collages and snowman crafts which we are delighted to share with you.

Next week, the children will continue their winter learning by exploring animals that live in cold habitats, focusing on the Arctic and Antarctica. It has been a happy, engaging and thoroughly enjoyable start to the term.
