Forest School News Summer Term

W/B 23/05/2022 This week the classes have been looking at and learning about “Insects”.
The pupils have learnt that insects have six legs, three parts to their bodies (head, thorax and abdomen), no internal skeleton instead an exo skeleton and two antennae.
Between an estimated six and ten million insects live in the world.
The pupils explored the Outdoor Learning Area and collected any insects they could find in Petra Dishes. Then returned to the Outdoor Classroom to observe the insects through magnifying glasses.
The pupils found woodlice, ants, beetles, flies, daddy long legs, shieldbugs and more…
The pupils made their own cardboard cut out insects with their joints fitted with split pins.
