Class 4 Trip to Otterton Mill
Class Four Otterton Mill Trip
On Tuesday 4th February, Class Four were able to visit Otterton Mill, a working flour mill near Budleigh Salterton. We saw first-hand how wheat is ground into flour and had a go at making some ourselves using hand grinders. In the coming weeks we are hoping to use some of the flour to produce and sell our own bread rolls, locally sourced and baked! We also found out about the beaver population in the local area and enjoyed a very pleasant riverside walk before returning to school. All children represented the school excellently, showing attentive, polite behaviour throughout. The staff at the mill commented on what a sensible, engaged and responsible group we were. Well done to all involved!
