Resource Futures - Recycling Workshops with Sally
We were very excited to welcome Sally Jackson from Resource Futures back to Witheridge on Wednesday 20th May. Sally has visited us a number of times over the past few years and her workshops are always great fun while really supporting our learning across the curriculum. In FSU, the children enjoyed a workshop all about Plastic Pirates and thinking about the importance of putting waste in the bin and not leaving litter. Children in KS1 considered different materials, and began to think about which materials could be recycled. In Class 3, children discovered that fruit and vegetables can be used to power batteries, and considered what renewable forms of energy are available to use instead of fossil fuels. In year 5, children had a go at doing their own recycling by making their own paper. All the children really enjoyed their workshops, represented the school brilliantly with their curiosity and attention, and hopefully took home some valuable learning about environmental education.
