KS1 Trip – Wonderdome

On Friday, children in Key Stage 1 had the opportunity to explore their Space topic at the Wonderdome which was based in High Bickington. Despite a long journey there (due to several road closures) the children's spirits remained high as we arrived at High Bickington. In the Community Centre Hall, we walked in to find an enormous dome! We took our shoes off and went inside. Once inside, we learnt all about the sun, planets and the constellations through projections on to the walls and roof of the dome. We even watched a moon landing and saw what it might be like if we lived and worked on the moon. It was a fantastic experience, full of awe and wonder. The children learnt so much to complement their knowledge and understanding of space.
