The story of our Vision

In the New Testament, the apostle Paul writes in 1 Thessalonians 5:11, "Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing." This verse highlights the Christian principle of love and unity within the community. Encouragement and building up others foster a positive and supportive environment where students, teachers, and parents/carers can thrive.

In Matthew 7:12, Jesus teaches, "So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you." This principle encourages individuals to treat others with kindness and respect. Applying this principle within Witheridge Academy fosters a culture of mutual support, where everyone is valued and treated as they would like to be treated.

The Bible teaches that each person is uniquely gifted and has talents bestowed upon them by God. In Romans 12:6-8, Paul writes, "We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us... If it is to encourage, then give encouragement." Recognising and affirming the diverse talents of students, teachers, and staff within Witheridge C of E Academy helps create an environment where individuals are empowered to develop their gifts and use them for the benefit of others.

Jesus exemplified servant leadership during His ministry, as He taught His disciples to serve one another. In Mark 10:45, Jesus says, "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." Encouraging students to embrace the values of servant leadership helps foster a culture where they prioritise the needs of others and develop a sense of responsibility to serve their fellow classmates and the wider community.

By incorporating these biblical principles into the vision of Witheridge Academy, the school can strive to create a nurturing and supportive environment where students are encouraged, talents are cultivated, relationships are built on love and unity, and servant leadership is fostered. Such a vision aligns with the biblical teachings and values, and it can help students grow academically, emotionally, and spiritually.
