Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you!
A huge thank you to all the parents and carers who came to see the DT Week display this week, with its inspiring focus on Building Futures. It was wonderful to welcome so many of you into school to celebrate the children’s creativity and hard work. Your support makes moments like this even more special and truly reflects our vision to Encourage One Another and Build Each Other Up.
🔬 Next Week — Science Week: Curiosity Theme!
Next week, we are excited to launch Science Week, and this year’s theme is Curiosity! Throughout the week, children will take part in a wide range of science activities designed to spark imagination, inspire questions and deepen their understanding of the world around them.
Please encourage your child to talk about the “big questions” they’re exploring and the discoveries they make — curiosity is at the heart of great learning! 🚀
📊 Assessment Week – Years 1-6
Next week is also Assessment Week for pupils in Years 1–6. These important assessments help teachers see where every child is in their learning journey and plan the next steps to support their progress. We ask families to support pupils by ensuring they are well-rested, calm and ready to show what they know.
🌟 Living Our Vision
Our school vision — to Encourage One Another and Build Each Other Up — isn’t just words on a page. It shapes how we learn, how we behave and how we support each other as a community. From creative DT work and scientific enquiry to daily kindness in the classroom, this vision continues to guide everything we do. Thank you for your continued support and partnership in your child’s education. We are looking forward to a week full of curiosity, confidence and achievement.
Finally, Miss Coles will not be in school from 10th March - 24th March. Mrs Lewis and Miss McWilliams will be supporting the children in Class 1 while Miss Coles is not in school. Miss Coles and Mrs Lewis have had a full handover this week to make sure that the learning for the children is not interrupted, and Mrs Lewis will update Miss McWilliams. Mrs Seymour will still be in Class 1 as normal to ensure a smooth transition for the children.
With warm regards,
Miss Ratcliffe
