Dear Parents and Carers,
Our school value for this half-term is Courage and this week we have seen this value demonstrated in so many ways across our school community.
A particular well done goes to our Year 1 and Year 4 children. This week, Year 1 pupils completed their Phonics Screening Check and Year 4 pupils undertook the Multiplication Tables Check. Both assessments require children to show confidence, determination and resilience, and our pupils have done just that.
We would like to congratulate all of the children in Year 1 and Year 4 for their hard work and perseverance throughout the week. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of you. You have shown great courage by approaching these challenges with a positive attitude and giving your very best.
A huge thank you must also go to Mrs Nott and the Class 3 Team and Miss Coles and the Class 1 team for the wonderful support they have provided. Their encouragement, preparation and dedication have helped the children feel confident and ready to succeed.
As we move towards the end of the academic year, we are beginning to think about transition and preparing children for their new year groups. This process has already begun with our transition evening for the new cohort of Reception children who will be joining us in September.
Thank you to all the parents and carers who were able to attend the session. It was lovely to welcome families into our school community and begin building relationships ahead of September. We would also like to thank Mrs North for leading such an informative and welcoming evening.
This week also saw our annual class photographs take place. We are sure the children enjoyed the opportunity to have their pictures taken with their classmates. Photographs are available to purchase using the QR code that was sent home with all children on Tuesday.
As we reflect on the week, it is clear that courage takes many forms. Whether it is tackling assessments, preparing for a new class, starting school for the first time, or simply trying something new, our children continue to show courage every day. Thank you to our pupils, staff and families for working together to support one another and help our children flourish.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Miss Ratcliffe Head of School
