Encourage One Another And Build Each Other Up

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we reach the end of another busy and successful year at Witheridge C of E Academy, it is wonderful to reflect on the many memorable moments, achievements and celebrations that have taken place over the past few weeks.

On Monday, Class 2 enjoyed their final Farm School session of the year at Essebeare Farm! A huge thank you to Farmer Ollie for providing such wonderful Farm School experiences throughout the year. The children have thoroughly enjoyed their sessions, and we are incredibly grateful for the time, enthusiasm and knowledge you have shared with them.

We were also delighted to celebrate our FSU Graduation Ceremony. The children in Reception were absolutely wonderful. They performed beautifully, and it was lovely to see them round off such a special few years in the FSU. We have watched them grow, learn and flourish, and we cannot wait to see them continue their journey as they move into Year 1.

A huge THANK YOU to our PTFA for organising the Yes Day on Tuesday. The feedback from both children and staff has been incredibly positive, and it was clear that everyone had a fantastic time. We are so grateful for all the effort that goes into creating these special experiences for our children.

Well done to our Rocksteady Rock Stars for another brilliant ROCK concert on Tuesday afternoon. The children performed fantastically and it was wonderful to see their confidence, enthusiasm and musical talents shine through.

A very big well done to our Class 4 children for their fantastic performance of ‘Superstan’ on Wednesday. It was a brilliant show, and everyone who watched it enjoyed themselves tremendously. A huge THANK YOU to Mrs Roberts and Mr Manning for all their hard work, dedication and creativity in bringing the performance together.

This week, our Class 3 children are looking forward to their Wildside Residential on Thursday and Friday. I am sure they will have a wonderful time creating memories, trying new experiences and enjoying time together outside of the classroom.

Our KS1 children are also heading to Lyme Regis on Friday to revisit their learning about Mary Anning and fossils. It promises to be a fantastic day, and I know they will enjoy bringing their classroom learning to life.

As we come to the end of the academic year, I would like to take this opportunity to say an enormous THANK YOU to the fantastic staff here at Witheridge C of E Academy.

Sometimes, I think they make everything look so effortless that it appears as though they are doing nothing at all! However, do not be fooled by appearances. Behind the scenes, every member of staff is constantly working hard to make this school the wonderful place it is.

Whether it is teaching a class, supporting children, putting on a performance, cleaning classrooms, organising resources or completing all the many jobs that happen behind the scenes, every single person plays an important part. Everyone works together as one team, and I could not be prouder to lead this amazing group of people.

As I reflect on the year, I think about the challenges that our children have overcome. Learning is not always easy — and it is not meant to be. Learning is about challenge, perseverance and growth. The children at Witheridge rise to that challenge every single day. They walk through the doors, put their learning hats on, bring their smiles with them and always try their very best. I could not ask for more.

Finally, I want to say a huge thank you to all our parents and carers. Working together in partnership is the only way we can ensure our school community continues to thrive. Please remember that a kind word, a smile or a quick thank you to your child’s Class Teacher goes a very long way. It may look effortless from the outside, but believe me, it is not — it is the result of a great deal of care, commitment and hard work.

We still have a few more special days to enjoy with our wonderful Year 6 children, and I hope they make the most of every moment before they move on to their next adventure.

Thank you for all your support this year. I hope you have a wonderful summer holiday when we get there, and we look forward to welcoming you back in September for another exciting year at Witheridge C of E Academy.

Have a lovely summer!

Kind regards,

Miss Ratcliffe
