Encourage One Another And Build Each Other Up

🌟 Another Wonderful Week at Witheridge! 🌟

We have had another busy and exciting week at Witheridge C of E Academy, with lots of opportunities for our children to learn, challenge themselves and experience new things beyond the classroom.

🏃 Cross Country
On Monday, some of our children took part in the Cross Country event at High Bickington Academy.  A huge thank you to Mr Manning and Mrs Ware for accompanying the children and supporting them throughout the event. It was particularly lovely to hear that the children were encouraging one another and building each other up, helping each other to feel confident and successful. This is such a wonderful example of our school vision in action: “Encourage one another and build each other up.”

🚌 Learning Beyond the Classroom
It has also been fantastic to see our first few school trips of the year taking place this week. Class 3 headed to Dartmoor to visit Finch Foundry, while Class 4 travelled to Bristol to learn more about the history of the slave trade.

These experiences provide our children with valuable opportunities to broaden their understanding of the world around them and to reflect thoughtfully on both their own experiences and the experiences of others, both now and in the past. We are incredibly proud of the way our children have represented our school on these trips.

🌾 Harvest Festival
We are looking forward to celebrating our Harvest Festival next Wednesday, 7th October at 10am in Witheridge Church. Thank you to everyone who has already sent in donations. If you are able to, please do continue to send in tinned and packaged food donations for our Harvest collection. Fresh items can also be brought in closer to the day.

📚 Parents’ Evening Reminder
A little reminder that our Parents’ Evenings take place next Wednesday and Thursday, 7th and 8th October. If you haven't already done so, please remember to sign up via Arbor. We look forward to sharing your child’s progress and celebrating all that they have achieved so far this year.

As we reflect on another busy week, it has been lovely to see so many examples of our vision, “Encourage one another and build each other up,” coming to life across our school community — whether that is on the sports field, during a school trip, or in the classroom. 💙

Have a wonderful weekend!
